WELCOME TO THE LIBRARY!
Visual Communication Tools & Resources for Self-Proclaimed Scatterbrains!
Literacy & Collaboration with Alyssa
Alyssa is passionate about supporting readers in ways that are thoughtful and help people feel empowered in the process. I met Alyssa when she reached out for a chat and have been following her on social media for a while now. I love seeing her simple tips and thoughtful advocacy for the students and teachers she supports.
If you’re working with readers yourself or want to see how getting to the root of an issue can come in handy in the reading/learning process (as it would for yours too!) then let’s jump into the article!
Communication & Affirming Neurodiversity with Natashia
I discovered Natashia’s work on Instagram and fell in love with her passion for treating children with respect and helping parents develop the skills to communicate with their kids holistically.
Her parenting tips and vulnerable shares are so inspiring and have been excellent prompts for me as I parent my differently wired children (and myself). I can totally connect with what Natashia talks about in this interview as a mother whose business became what it is today because of how I needed to show up for my children and family as a whole, which eventually informed how I choose to show up for myself.
Natashia makes beautiful communication books that utilize visual aids to give young children a voice in their own lives. It’s a fantastic tool for children on the spectrum and children who use nonverbal forms of communication.
I’m so excited to share Natashia’s story and work with you here. Enjoy!
Embodying Your Brand Everywhere You Go with Bridget Baker
I met Bridget through BWB. We were both collaborators on a few of their client projects and her simplicity and love of the mojo/vibe beneath a brand totally resonated with me.
After a lovely coffee chat, I realized that her story of finding simplicity through multiple avenues of life’s journey is something we HAD to have in the library. Enjoy!
Birthing Brands That Are Whatever You Want Them To Be with BWB
I have the biggest LOVE for BWB.
Their team is full of warm, glowing, powerful examples of embodied leadership and care that I just haven’t seen very many places. Casey and Cait have been my colleagues and friends for years and every project we work on together is full of passion and next level powerful clients who are brining a new perspective to their industries and creating a new kind of leadership that is inclusive, full of rest and impactful (stay tuned for some of these projects coming to the gallery in a few months).
I’m so excited for this interview to inspire you in how you can lead your business differently, especially if you lead an agency or a larger team. These women are next level space holders and retreat hosts as well so I couldn’t recommend their experiences enough!
And now let’s get to the interview (yay!):
Bringing Social Justice Into Every Space You Occupy with Sacil Armstrong
Sacil was the first person to guide me into the journey of social justice. She so gently questioned my harmful beliefs and informed me on what was actually happening in the world. Her ability to hold space with kindness and accountability is unparalleled. She’s a dear friend of mine and trusted advisor and teacher. I’m so beyond grateful for her work, her impact in my life and to be able to share her with you today.
This is a replay of our interview from 2019. Enjoy and be sure to check out her courses and membership Inspired by Indigo (maybe I’ll see you in there!)
Confidence & Visibility with Steph Wharton
I’m so excited to introduce you to Steph Wharton today. I first met her at the Thrive Summit which was hosted by Esther Yew. She was just being herself during her presentation and throwing out info gems all over the place. I’m personally looking forward to her support this Fall with some fun visibility opportunities (more on that later!)
Steph’s views on showing up are a breath of fresh air and totally aligned with Illustrative’s values. So let’s dive into our interview with Steph and see how to build that confidence and increase visibility while learning a little more about her and her work.
Ending The Hustle with Ash from Hustle Healing Co.
For July 2022, we are discussing Ease and Celebration - so I asked Ash from Healing Hustle Co. to share about how support leaders in releasing the hustle and how we can end the hustle personally so that we can have a huge impact in our industries.
For those of us who are neurodivergent, Ash included, rest and ease is especially important so we can keep our brains running at their best.
Aligning Client Chats to Your Capacity with Kristen from Going Ultraviolet
Our theme for June 2022 is Gather and I just LOVE Kristen’s unique way of gathering the information she needs for a project in a way that feels cozy for her and her clients. She’s a boss at listening to herself and her community when making decisions so I asked her to share more about it!
