The O.I.C. was built for the those who…
Worry that using visual aids will take too much time, effort and energy for something that may or may not help
Feel exhausted from drawn-out editing phases and hours spent in making stuff no none uses or looks at
Are eager to deliver a more inclusive process for your neurodivergent clients - but don’t know where to start
Watch clients get stuck at the same step in the process and are not sure how to fix it
Long to be a part of a movement that centers on kindness, autonomy, simplicity and ease
Want to discover the visual tools many people need so you can offer and request accommodations with integrity
Kind words are rolling in about the membership and the dig sessions
The O.I.C. equips you with tools to:
✴ Keep projects and programs on track from the beginning and say goodbye to scope creep & long editing rounds
✴ Creatively meet your neurodivergent clients’ learning needs so your program can be a game-changer for them
✴ Set visually clear boundaries for both yourself and your clients to create a service that is rejuvenating and fun
✴ Intentionally reduce churn and drop-off in your communities & courses
✴ Feel confident that your visual aids are translating the way you intended
ADHD Friendly?
ADHD Friendly means friendly for more people.
The O.I.C. is ADHD Friendly (and therefore real human life friendly) in these ways:
All lessons are 5-7 minutes long with captions & playback speed controls
Workshop replays have captions and timestamps so you can work through longer learning in small parts
You can show up your own way from only dipping in for resources to playing all the challenges
Everything is color coded and organized into playlists with analogy-based symbols for each category
We celebrate a lot, we trust what people say when they share what they need and we embrace our mistakes & funny moments
And the best part: You’re allowed to be yourself here <3
Hello! I’m Laura.
I'm an artist, mom, spouse, teacher and neurodivergent woman who lives in upstate New York. I love squirrels, animated movies and get my inspiration from music, stories, nature and whatever I'm hyper-focused on at the moment.
I was a brand designer and illustrator for 12 years and along the way discovered that visually translating ideas within the process of creativity is my FAVE thing to do. I grew up in the southern United States and now live in the cold.. still dealing with that choice.
The Offbeat Illustrative Community was my way to share visual communication support with more people. I believe everyone deserves a chance to be seen and understood and that visual communication is a fantastic tool for doing so. I’d love to meet you inside the membership!
FAQs

Yes and No. Everything is built around the Illustrative Framework. We have monthly dig sessions that are a part of the annual series: Visually Cultivated and the learning library within the O.I.C. is built around that framework as well. However, you can explore in any order based on what you need now. So if you like to follow a set path, that’s there for you. If you like to dive in at random spots in the learning journey, you can!
-
There are lessons all about making your visuals clear and understandable, which I believe makes them pretty. In this community we don’t focus on pretty, we focus on supportive.
